Battery Safety Information

Your safety is our top priority. Please read the following safety guidelines carefully, as they apply to all unprotected lithium-ion batteries sold on DIY500AMP.COM. Understanding and following these instructions can help prevent dangerous accidents.

Short Circuit Warning

A short circuit occurs when the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of a battery make direct contact, allowing current to flow without resistance. This extreme current flow generates intense heat and can lead to fires, causing serious injury, property damage, or even death. Remember, while the top cap of a cylindrical lithium-ion battery is the positive terminal, the entire outer casing serves as the negative terminal. To avoid hazards, always keep the PVC wrapper and top cap insulator in excellent condition. Do not use any battery that appears damaged, dented, deformed, leaking, or otherwise compromised.

Safe Use and Handling

Store and Transport: Always use a protective case for your batteries. Never keep lithium-ion batteries loose or in places where they may come in contact with metal objects, such as pockets, bags, or purses. This precaution is crucial to avoid unintended short circuits.

Battery Exposure: If your skin or eyes come in contact with battery electrolyte, flush with water immediately and seek emergency medical attention.

⚠ IMPORTANT WARNING

Misuse or improper handling of lithium-ion batteries poses severe risks, including FIRE, EXPLOSION, and SERIOUS INJURY. At DIY500AMP.COM, we urge you to understand these risks fully before purchasing or using these products.

  • DIY500AMP.COM does not guarantee compatibility, suitability, or fitness for any specific application.
  • These batteries are intended only for system integrations with protection circuitry or in battery packs with a Battery Management System (BMS).
  • Do not use these batteries with e-cigarettes, vaporizers, or any similar devices due to significant risks, including fires or explosions.

If reselling, you must communicate these warnings to all customers to ensure their safety.

Proper Usage Guidelines

  • Use Batteries ONLY with Adequate Protection: Do not use batteries without a compatible protection circuit.
  • Do Not Store Batteries Loose: Always use a protective case.
  • Avoid Short Circuits: Keep batteries away from metal objects that could create a circuit.
  • Do Not Use Damaged Batteries: Any battery with a damaged PVC wrapper, insulator, or physical damage should not be used.
  • Charge Responsibly: Use only a compatible, smart charger designed for lithium-ion batteries, and never leave batteries charging unattended.
  • Keep Away from Extreme Temperatures: Do not expose batteries to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
  • Do Not Modify: Never modify, puncture, or disassemble batteries. Batteries should only be spot-welded, not soldered.
  • Use Proper Orientation: Ensure batteries are installed correctly and not forced in the wrong direction.
  • Avoid Overcharging: Do not exceed the maximum voltage or discharge rating specified by the manufacturer.
  • Recycle Properly: Lithium-ion batteries should not be disposed of in the trash. Check local regulations for proper disposal or recycling options.

Immediate Action Required

Discontinue battery use immediately if you observe unusual smells, heat, discoloration, or changes in shape. Make sure your charging device or equipment functions correctly before each use.

Special Safety Reminders for Resellers

If you purchase batteries from DIY500AMP.COM for resale, you must pass on all safety warnings to your customers to protect their well-being.
