Description

Milwaukee M18-Compatible Battery Case & PCB Kit

Available in two different versions: a 10-cell 18650 case for a 6Ah build and a larger 10-cell 21700 case for an 8Ah build. Select the correct cell size before ordering. The cases, internal holders, PCBs, and product photos are different for each version.

Important: This is a DIY case and PCB kit only.

Battery cells and a completed battery pack are not included. Professional battery-building knowledge, a suitable spot welder, and proper lithium-ion safety practices are required.

Choose the Correct Version

Variant Cell Configuration Intended Capacity
18650 10 × 18650 cells, 5S2P 6Ah when built with matched 3,000mAh cells
21700 10 × 21700 cells, 5S2P 8Ah when built with matched 4,000mAh cells

Final pack capacity depends on the actual capacity of the cells installed. Do not install 18650 cells in the 21700 version or 21700 cells in the 18650 version.

18650 6Ah Version

This version uses ten high-power 18650 cells in a 5S2P configuration. For a true 6Ah build, use matched 3,000mAh cells.

Recommended 18650 cells: Ampace JP30P1, EVE 30P, EVE 25P, Samsung 25R, or another genuine high-drain 18650 cell appropriate for the tool load.

21700 8Ah Version

This larger version uses ten high-power 21700 cells in a 5S2P configuration and has a different case, cell holder, PCB arrangement, and photo set from the 18650 version. For a true 8Ah build, use matched 4,000mAh 21700 cells such as the Ampace JP40.

Do not use the 18650 assembly photos or instructions as a reference for the 21700 version.

Package Includes

  • One M18-compatible plastic battery housing for the selected cell size
  • One matching PCB/protection board
  • Internal cell holder and assembly components shown in the selected variant photos
  • Battery indicator and exterior labels when supplied with the selected kit
  • No lithium-ion cells included

PCB Protection Functions

  • Overcharge protection
  • Over-discharge protection
  • Temperature protection during charging and discharging
  • Battery-level indicator
  • Charging-status indication

PCB color, LED color, component layout, labels, and minor design details may vary by production batch. These cosmetic differences do not change the intended function of the board.

Assembly Requirements

  • Use only genuine, matched cells of the same model, capacity, age, voltage, and similar internal resistance.
  • Bring every cell to the same voltage before spot welding.
  • Verify the complete 5S2P layout and polarity before connecting the PCB.
  • Use a proper battery spot welder. Do not solder directly to lithium-ion cell terminals.
  • Insulate the PCB and conductive connections from cell cans and other metal surfaces.
  • A reversed connection can immediately damage the PCB and create a serious safety hazard.
  • If the assembled pack does not initially provide output, it may require activation using the correct M18-compatible charger.

Read Before Buying

This product is intended for experienced battery builders and qualified repair technicians. Improper cell selection, welding, insulation, wiring, or charging can damage the cells, PCB, tool, or charger and may cause fire or injury. Purchasing this kit confirms that you understand the risks associated with assembling lithium-ion battery packs.

For battery cells, review the product description for real-world current recommendations, testing notes, and application guidance. Manufacturer maximum ratings should be treated as limits, not the best target for long-term pack health.

Orders ship from Florida when inventory is available. Lithium-ion cells require proper handling, protected packs, correct chargers, and safe storage. Do not solder directly to battery terminals.
